Letter of the Week: B

Monday:

1. Good Morning Routine
2. Songs
   • Review favorite songs
   • Where Did My Caterpillar Go (by Megan Sheakoski)
3. Books
   • The Very Hungry Caterpillar (by Eric Carle)
   • Monarch Butterfly (by Gail Gibbons)
4. Activities
   • Painting a picture of a butterfly– you can print/draw any picture of a butterfly onto cardstock and have your toddler/preschooler paint it
   • Words that begin with B– make a list of words that begin with the letter ‘B’ and continually reinforce the ‘B’ sound.
5. Free Play Learning (sand, water, puzzles)

Tuesday:

   • Review favorite songs
   • Where Did My Caterpillar Go (by Megan Sheakoski)
3. Books
   • Bonjour, Butterfly (by Jane O’Connor)
   • Butterfly Express (by Jane Belk Moncure)
4. Activities
   • Words that begin with B
   • Find the B on the Board– Write many Bs as well as other letters and have your toddler/preschooler erase or circle or scribble over each letter B.
   • Butterfly Life Cycle Wheel (found on Super Teacher Worksheets)
5. Free Play Learning (sand, water, puzzles)

Wednesday:

3. Books
   • Waiting for Wings (by Lois Ehlert)
   • Where Butterflies Grow (by Joanne Ryder)
4. Activities
   • Find the B on the Board– Write many Bs as well as other letters and have your toddler/preschooler erase or circle or scribble over each letter B.
   • Review Butterfly Life Cycle Wheel
   • Go on a butterfly hunt at the park or in the backyard
5. Free Play Learning (sand, water, puzzles)

   • Paint/Paper cut a very hungry caterpillar– We made a chain for the body using green construction paper and then one red ring for the head.
